I believe the focus on the eyes adds to character because she spoke on trying to show herself and not what was perfect for medias sake and it is often said that eyes can't lie
I enjoy that the photos are focused on the subject's eyes. It reminds me of the saying "the eyes are the windows of the soul"
The focus on her eyes and was essential to this series. The black and white gave the photos extra emotion and moodiness. My favorite photo is the one with the glasses in the front!
Choosing to use black and white was very successful! I also love how each self portrait is so unique, and you can tell that you took the time to set up different scenes to capture a successful shot!
I really appreciate the fact that you included an artist statement that kinda describes your goals and motives behind the project. The way you went about taking your photos is super thoughtful. I can tell that you really put a lot of thought into each and every photo.
